WHO ARE THEY?

I'm the author of two collections of mostly poetry, knot body, published by Metatron Press in 2020 and the Good Arabs, published by Metonymy Press in 2021. In 2022, The Good Arabs won the Grand Prix du livre de Montréal, making it only the second book written in English to win the prize since its inception in 1965. In 2023, I translated Gabrielle Boulianne-Tremblay's La fille d'elle-même, and called it Dandelion Daughter. It's available through Véhicule Press.

I also edited an anthology called El Ghourabaa: a queer and trans collection of oddities in 2024 with my co-editor Samia Marshy. We collected writing from 24 Arab and Arabophone queer and/or trans writers and Metonymy Press published it.

I've worked at a few different literary journals, most recently as the non-fiction editor at the Ex-Puritan, and worked as an acquisition editor at Metonymy Press. I've given dozens of workshops on many different topics, ranging from creative letter writing to writing non-didactic political poetry.

I am currently working on a novel and a children's middle grade book!
